Pres. Cox called the meeting to order at 7:20PM.  All officers were present.

BILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS:

-         Letter from John Walters concerning receipt of COPE payment.

-         JR Cox discussed ongoing meetings with individual plant yard ops.

-         Labor Council Newsletter.

-         Roger Mustard Sr. requested reimbursement for trip to Nashville, TN for the TNAFL-CIO annual convention meals, mileage, hotel and 3 days wages

-         Robert Fletcher requests reimbursement for 1 day’s wages for Panel meeting

-         LeeAnne Bedford requests reimbursement for 1 day’s wages for Panel meeting

-         Steve Cox requests reimbursement for 2 days wages for Labor Relations hearing

-         Roger Mustard Jr. requests reimbursement for Financial Secretary training 

-         Danny Melton requests reimbursement for trip to Nashville , TN for the TNAFL-CIO annual convention meals, mileage, hotel and 3 days wages

-         JR Cox requests reimbursement for LWOP for meetings (Nashville, Labor Relations and w/Gary Vinson); Financial Secretary training; car rentals; meals; mileage; postage; printer ink; funeral flowers and phone bill 

-         JR Cox called Upper East Tenn. Central Labor Council about our involvement with them.

-         James Y West pension was approved.

-         JR Cox spoke with Brother Farmer BM from Local 934 about assessments owed.

-         E-mail from Edwin Hill concerning the 2007 United Way Campaign.

-         E-mail from Edwin Hill concerning the upcoming Political Action Training.

-         E-mail from Gary Vinson shift rotation issues @ Kingston.

-         Letter from Keith Craig concerning medical rates for 2008.

-         Letter requesting sponsorship for Cynthia Scott in the “Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure”.

-         American Income Life Insurance Co. Labor Advisory Board letter.

REPORTS OF E-BOARD:

-         Mike Soderburg discussed the 75th anniversary agenda and some ongoing grievances.

REPORTS OF DELEGATES AND COMMITTEES:

-         Robert Fletcher discussed the panel meeting.

-         Roger Mustard and Danny Melton discussed the business conducted at the TNAFL-CIO convention.

-         Motion was made and seconded to send money to striking workers at the Maramont Plant in Loudon.

PROPOSITION OF MEMBERHIP:

-         Ken Barrett honorary withdrawal.

REPORTS OF ACCIDENTS, SICKNESS OR DEATHS:

-         Jackie Nero in hospital with illness.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

-         Tim Wilkey gave a report on the TVARS election.

NEW BUSINESS:

-         Selection needed to be made on sending someone down to the Political Action Training in Orlando .

GOOD OF THE UNION :

-         JR Cox won the door prize.

-         Roger Mustard Jr. asked if any job stewards were having trouble with dues.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45PM. The next meeting is scheduled for October 2nd, 2007.
