                    i)            Subject: IBEW representative for Kingston Fossil Plant Health & Safety Committee.

(1)         Jeff Daniels will represent the IBEW on the Kingston Fossil Plant Health & Safety Committee.

(1)   Instrument Mechanic & Senior Instrument Mechanic (Specialist)

a)        10% above IM or SIM, whichever is applicable

(2)  Assistant Unit Operator or Unit Operator (Specialist) Nuclear

a)    10% above AUO or UO, whichever is applicable

     (3)  Assistant Unit Operator or Unit Operator (Specialist) Fossil

a)    10% above AUO or UO, whichever is applicable

(4)  Central Lab, Maintenance Technician & Maintenance Technical Foreman (based on General Building Maintenance Mechanic & General Building Mechanic Foreman)

 a)   5% above journeyman rate & 18% above the Maintenance Technician rate.

*Discussion on defining what exactly does “Specialty Work” means and if the 10% is equivalent or less compensation for the job description.

(1)   October 22-24, 2009 in Washington, D.C. at the International Office.

(2)  $75.00 registration fee – Rooms $149.00/night

*Discussion: waiting on a response from Charles Rolen about proceeding.

                    i)       Subject: Response to grievance appeal regarding Todd Eller – Comtrac 17194.

*Discussion: Todd Eller no longer wanted to pursue this matter.

                    i)       Subject: Sponsor Ms. Scott in the 2009 Race for the Cure

(1)   Race scheduled for September 27, 2009.

 

 

i)     Letter from John k. Craig (International Representative IBEW 10th District) to John E. Long (Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Vice President, Administrative Services)

                    i)       Subject: Request for Annual employees to address the TVA Board regarding benefit reductions to the TV retirement system.

 

j)     Jason Melton reimbursed 1 days pay, plus mileage for August Panel Meeting in Nashville, TN.

 

k)   Sean Cash reimbursed mileage and lodging for 3 days for Bi-annual Tennessee AFL/CIO Conference in Nashville, TN.

 

l)     J.R. Cox reimbursed 1 days pay, plus mileage from John Sevier Fossil to Kingston Fossil for Coal Yard Transition meeting.

a)     Jason Melton reported on August 7th, 2009 Panel Meeting in Nashville, TN

b)     Jason Melton reported that the TVA’s OEP program is being grieved Valley Wide

c)      J.R. Cox reported on the Kingston Coal Yard transition meeting.

9)    Reports of Delegates and Committees

a)     Upper East Tennessee CLC

§         Ronnie Fletcher reported on the AFL/CIO Labor Day Bash. The location has changed to the Rocky Mount Historical Site on HWY 11E.

b)     Knoxville Area CLC

§         Sean Cash reported on the AFL/CIO Labor Day Bash to be held at the World’s Fair Park and Amphitheatre September 7th, 2009, from Noon to 4:00 PM.

c)      TN AFL/CIO Bi-Annual Conference in Nashville, TN

§            Sean Cash gave an in depth report from the meeting.

d)     Sean Cash invited Sam Alexander to talk with the Brothers about his run for State Representative 18th District Seat. Mr. Alexander talked before the meeting about his platform and his opponent, Steve Hall, for the 2010 election.

 

10)    Accidents, Sickness or Death

a)     Jason Merritt off sick

b)     Dennis Martin off sick

c)      Tommy Kurd from Phipps Bend Crew is off work sick.

 

 

11)    Unfinished Business

a)     John Sevier Groups had sent care packages for Danny Melton while in Iraq. There are plans to send more; they are just waiting for his and his crew’s requests. The next one should be going for Christmas. Contact J.R. Cox for more information.

b)     Jeff Mayes grievance set to go to mediation.

c)      OEP grievance is moving forward.

 

12)    New Business

a)     Motioned passed to sponsor Cynthia Scott in the Race for the Cure.

b)     Letter “D” in correspondence

c)      Jason Melton asked for Brothers to get Names, Addresses, and Numbers of any members of the Engineering Association who would interested in joining the IBEW.

d)     “Continuation of Work” overtime clarification at Kingston.

e)     Ronnie Fletcher brought up the possibility of having our own Registered Lobbyist for LU 365 for representation in Nashville. It involves a training class.

f)  IBEW Business cards for delegates. J.R. Cox volunteered to check on them.

 

13)    Good of the Union

a)     Door Prize

§         Bobby McCowan won the Door Prize

b)     J.R. Cox provided bibles for the Job Stewarts to take back to their shops.

c)      Tickets were passed out for the Knoxville Shriners Circus in October.
