Pres. Turner called the meeting to order at 7:05PM.  Roger Mustard and JR Cox were absent all other officers were present.

BILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS:

  1. Letter from Keith Craig concerning Aug. 11 panel meeting.
  2. Letter from Ed Hill concerning New Business Manager training July 28-Aug 1.
  3. E-mail attachment concerning all LU’s with TVA jurisdiction and their contact information.
  4. Letter from Bobby Klein concerning TN Valley Trades and Labor Council and TVA Labor Management Conference.
  5. Letter from JR Cox to Regions Bank Morristown, Tn informing the Bank we are a LU of the IBEW and subject to its constitution and rules.
  6. E-mail from JR Cox regarding AUO tool pouch maintenance at Kingston.
  7. E-mail from JR Cox regarding UO and AUO being asked to write JSA’s.
  8. Letter from JR Cox to New South Credit Union requesting removal from the treasurer’s account.
  9. Letter from AIL Ins. Regarding life insurance for members.
  10. Steven G. Cox reimbursement request for 2 Days Wages LWOP for meeting with Mr. McCormick and Keith Craig; grievance hearings for Mr. Rose, Guinn, Reed and McKenzie

No E-board meeting was held at this time.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS:

  1. Pres. Turner gave report on the July 11 panel meeting.

  2. Pres. Turner gave report on New Business Manager training.

PROPOSITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP:

  1. Participating withdrawal card for Gaynes J Rose.

REPORTS OF DELEGATES AND COMMITTEES:

  1. Ronnie Fletcher reported on the Upper East TN CLC meeting.
  2. Ronnie Fletcher discussed the Upper East TN CLC Labor Day bash and requested us making a donation to help cover the costs.

ACCIDENTS, SICKNESS OR DEATHS:

  1. Hamilton Thomas passed away.
  2. Greg Scott Seals’ mother passed away

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

  1. Discussion on developing Units within LU 365.
  2. Discussed setting up Local Newsletter. Will be looked at again after budget is set.
  3. Discussion on message board on website. This was decided against for difficulty to monitor and legal issues.
  4. Discussion on PO Box. It was decided against due to difficulties in location and checking daily.
  5. Discussion on Locals 70th Anniv. Celebration. New committee was formed. Motion was made to committee to give each member a 70th anniv. T-shirt.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Patrick Faust agreed to assume roles of Asst. Business Manager to help with the Hydro area.
  2. Steve Cox and JR Cox will represent the IBEW for the Aug. 19-22 interviews at Kingston for SGPO’s.
  3. JR Cox was appointed by the International to assist in modifying the SGPO program.
  4. Expense and procedure policy for LU 365.
    1. Travel expense report form.
    2. Lost time voucher: form to be completed to receive reimbursement for lost wages.

GOOD OF THE UNION:

  1. Steve Cox to develop a presentation on wage negotiations to present to the membership at the Oct. 7 meeting. This will cover the how, why etc.
  2. Handout: The objects of the IBEW.
  3. Handout: AFL-CIO “A short history of American Labor” adapted from March 1981, AFL-CIO.
  4. Robert Fletcher won the door prize.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45PM. The next meeting is scheduled for September 2, 2008.
