1. Opening

        1. Letters and information regarding discussions between the Trades & Labor Council (T&LC) and the Tennessee Valley Authority relative to 2011 medical benefit plan. Main item on the plan is TVA wanting to change to a 4 tier option for co pays.

    1. Bull Run members’ workplace concerns about workplace environment (treatment of employees by management). Letter sent to V.P. Spencer concerning some of the issues. Priorities not stressed in a positive forward movement.
    2. Labor Day Bash for Upper East Tenn. CLC given a $200.00 contribution.

    2. The U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned an earlier decision by a district court in western North Carolina that had ruled four of TVA’s coal-fired plants were public nuisances. The appeals court also instructed the lower court in North Carolina to dismiss the case. The Fourth Circuit decision also removes emissions limitations the district court had imposed on TVA’s Bull Run, Kingston, John Sevier and Widows Creek plants.
    3. Reminder Local 365 elections coming up in summer of 2011. Everyone needs to be thinking of positions if you have interest. More information will be given closer to election time.
