Pres. L.D. Blankenship called the meeting to order @7:40PM. All officers were present.
 

COMMUNICATIONS AND BILLS:

-         L.D. Blankenship submitted bills for phone; hotel & mileage for the 10th Dist. Meeting in Arkansas; flowers for Danny Nance’s wife. Amt. $947.23

-         The body was asked for support of Cynthia Scott in Cancer walk for amt. of $250.00. Motion made and seconded.

-         Letter from Payton Hairston concerning grievance on timing of gas breakers between IBEW and EA.

-         Letter from K. Craig on AUO to UO upgrade.

-         Letter from American Insurance Company.

-         Letter from B. Kline concerning new Business Managers course.

-         Panel meeting Aug.3 in Nashville representation will be from Jason Hall, George Horsley & Kenneth Cornett.

-         Panel fund due by Sept. 6 amt $358.20.

-         Letter from AFL-CIO concerning the Convention at the end of the month expressed need for names of deceased members from 2003-present.

REPORTS OF THE E-BOARD:

-         60% of money market account moved into CD’s to improve interest return.

-         Possible disciplinary action @ Kingston.

-         Training issues @ Kingston.

-         Discussion over VPA issue of AUO to UO.

PROPOSITION OF NEW MEMBERS:

-         The following people requests membership. Motion made and seconded.

o       Donald Lowery (new member)

o       Shawn Stout (travel card transfer)

o       Jennifer Hess (travel card transfer)

REPORTS OF DELEGATES AND COMMITTEES:

-         Roger Mustard requested donation is made to Area Labor Council Labor Day picnic, also asked for volunteers to help work. Amt. $100.00

-         IM’s instructed not to work with CT techs until grievance is resolved.

-         Jerry Jennings off work with cancer and is approved for the Leave Donor program.

-         Pres. Hill expressed need for IBEW to change course to improve perception of public i.e. personal appearance.

-         IBEW taking a position of 0 tolerance for drugs.

-         Statistics given for amount of workforce without benefits.

-         Gary Hill financial advisor offers help with retirement planning initial call is free 1-800-943-9637.

REPORT OF SICKNESS, ACCIDENTS OR DEATHS:

-         Sharon Stewart from Bull Run was temporarily out of work due to an accident.

GOOD OF THE UNION:

-         Dwight Ramsey won the door prize.
