Pres. Turner called the meeting to order at 7:30PM. All officers were present.

BILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS:

- Letter concerning “Phil’s Friends” 2008 relay for life request for sponsorship motion made and seconded

- Letter from Keith Craig concerning grievance for improper work for AUO’s.

- AIL labor newsletter.

- Letter from Bobby Klein concerning TVA Labor Management Conf. Aug 26-28, 2008.

- Letter from Bobby Klein concerning Pres. Ed Hill’s strategic diversity plan.

- Letter concerning 2008 Utility Conf. as of now Bob Tice will be our delegate.

- Letter from Upper East Tenn. CLC asking to show your support for your area United Way and talk to your Congressman about supporting the Employee Free Choice Act.

- The IBEW Newsletter.

- Labor Council newsletter.

- JR Cox reimbursement request for Financial Secretary salary for July and phone bill

- Danny Melton request reimbursement for expenses from the Progress meeting (meals, mileage, incidental tips and hotel)

- Ronnie Fletcher requests reimbursement for expenses for AFL-CIO Leadership Conf. and donation given in support of UAW Local 1832

REPORTS OF E-BOARD:

- Jason Melton reported the election of himself as the new Chairman, dinner boat budget, and alternate meeting place to be further discussed.

REPORTS OF DELEGATES AND COMMITTEES:

- Ronnie Fletcher gave report on AFL-CIO Leadership Conf.

- Ronnie Fletcher presented a plaque to the Local from the Youth Baseball Team we sponsored.

- Danny Melton gave report on the Progress meeting.

REPORTS OF ACCIDENTS, SICKNESS OR DEATHS:

- Ronald Gibson passed away he was a CCDO @ Kingston FP.

- Phil Ball’s wife passed away body approved sending a Bible from the Local.

- Rusty Rolen still out of work with hip.

- Lineman Steve Bell out due to 4 wheeler wreck.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

- Tim Wilkey gave report on ballgame.

NEW BUSINESS:

- Discussion on developing units to assist Local giving service to the membership, which will be held under supervision of Local.

- Discussion on having 2 Asst. Business Managers.

- Discussion on Newsletter from Local to get more members involved, also a message board on the website was mentioned.

GOOD OF THE UNION:

- David Darnell won the door prize.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:50PM. The next meeting is scheduled for August 5^th, 2008.
